Dorsey Originals endeavors to provide well-designed, passionately made, and functional furniture that incorporates new technology with old-world woodworking techniques and creates exquisite furnishings, reflecting the Action Sports lifestyle.

Dorsey Originals designs and produces action sports coffee/cocktail table replicas for home, business and corporate environments. We are sensitive to the look and feel of good wood and fine furniture, as well as the passions of people and their tastes, being met by a quality that reflects their lifestyle. We provide quality furnishings that will accent their lifestyle, impress their peers, market their business, or enhance their corporate headquarters.

Dorsey Originals has an uncompromising commitment to quality. The key to our product lines is that each table is a finely crafted functional piece of furniture that still looks like the Action Sports board that it is.

The Action Sports coffee/cocktail table presently comes in four versions. The tables are distinct fine wood replicas of surfboards, wakeboards, snowboards, and skateboards. Each type of board table is matched with a base indicative of the boards’ action environment. The skateboard is mounted on a half-pipe base that is creatively functional. The surfboard mounts on wooden waves, as does the wakeboard. The snowboard mounts on two symbolic mountains with a valley half pipe in between. All Dorsey Originals are crafted from solid pieces of fine woods such as North Carolina and Brazilian cherry, mahogany, maple, pecan, and walnut, among many others.

These tables are not simple pieces of mass produced furniture. These works of art are custom made. They are shaped as the forms of the boards so that the snowboard and skateboard table has the same permanent bend to the table top as the actual boards’ bend. This is an elegant piece of furniture designed to get noticed and at the same time be ideal for actual use.

The two critical elements of the design are the beauty of the design and wood, plus the practicality of the construction. The tables are simple, symmetrical, flowing ... beautiful. The lines and versions work in series, and there are a limited number of tables in any one series.

Dorsey Originals also makes custom designs to fit exact measurements, but generally makes three sizes of the original design. Those sizes are the regular - Deck - 56.5" x 20" x 16.5" and Base 36" x 12" x 15.5"; and small - Deck - 46" x 18" x 16.5" and Base 26" x 10" x 15.5". These three sizes have standard prices and variations require additional cost and negotiation, but we are happy to oblige.
