CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY

The Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) gives Dorsey Originals the opportunity to distinguish their work from imitations. By offering the CoA, Dorsey Originals guarantees the authenticity of their work and also informs the owner specifically what they own. The CoA accompanies each finished Dorsey Original. It provides the following information:

A proper Certificate of Authenticity is an additional value to a Dorsey Original, insofar as it explains to the owner in detail the various factors which happened in its production and edition. The more details the CoA includes, the more value it contributes to the Dorsey Original.

The Details
The number of tables of a certain sport-line, wood, design, and finish, is called an edition. These similar tables are crafted either by the craftsman or, under the craftsman’s supervision. Numbering indicates the size of the edition and the number of each particular table. Therefore, 25/50 means that the table is the 25th table from an edition of 50. The edition numbers are, of course, essential. The date of the edition and that of the signing of the CoA are also essential. At Dorsey Originals we think the wood is a fundamental factor in furniture-making and should be fully explained on the CoA (type, origin, etc).

Additional Information
The "Additional information" category gives Dorsey Originals the opportunity to enunciate their own special conditions and contributions. Have we used a unique technique or combination of techniques in the execution of the unit? Are there variations in the edition which merit comment: different wood, different colors, or design enhancements? Is there a story behind this unit? We may include biographical information here. All of this information, and whatever else we might deem relevant to the piece, will enhance your experience of our work.

Customers and collectors need to be assured that the work they buy is guaranteed by the exclusivity and originality which only a limited edition can provide. We believe that the most cogent way of guaranteeing the authenticity and originality of any Dorsey Original is by giving the buyer honest and ample documented information about the edition and particular unit.

We make a CoA for every unit ordered, regardless of whether it is required, and it is included with every order in good faith. A copy of each CoA will be kept with our copy of the related invoice.
